Through this tour of Genova and Portofino, departing from Milan, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful coasts in Italy, characterized by its beautiful landscapes and some lovely towns. Also, you’ll visit the historic centre of Genova, and the town of Portofino, an exclusive destination of many celebrities.
The tour will start early in the morning from Milan, aboard a bus equipped with all comforts, to reach the city of Genova. Accompanied by a professional guide, you will visit the beautiful historic centre, especially the ancient port, renovated and designed by the famous international architect Renzo Piano.
The core of the old city is organized in a series of medieval lanes with numerous testimonies related to its historical events, particularly those during which Genova was part of the four Maritime Republics.
After the guided tour, you will have free time to continue to explore the city by your own, and have lunch with typical regional dishes. Later, aboard the bus, you'll head to Santa Margherita Ligure, in what is called the “Dolphin Coast”, which overlooks the Gulf of Tigullio.
This sea-village is absolutely lovely, characterized by narrow alleys, small squares and many churches, not to mention the Castle and the impressive Villa Durazzo-Centurione. From the port of Santa Margherita you will embark on a boat for a cruise that will take you to Portofino.
Portofino is probably one of the most famous seaside villages in Italy with a history of over a thousand years. You will have the incredible opportunity to explore its historic centre in complete freedom, and you can decide whether to visit one of the many churches, a castle or simply indulge in some shopping.
The tour will end with the return on the boat to Santa Margherita Ligure. From there, you’ll return by bus to Milan in the evening.
