Our guided tour of Cagliari will take you far from the classic tourist routes, giving you the opportunity to explore the secret corners of this wonderful city. An exciting walking excursion among picturesque squares, works of street artists, boisterous markets and handicraft shops of local artisans.
Cagliari is a sunny city that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Its historic centre is rich in historic, artistic and architectural treasures that attract crowds of tourists every year. But if you want to discover some secret places, in the lesser-known areas of the city, don’t miss this unusual walking excursion!
You will meet your expert tour guide at the base of the wonderful stairway of the Bonaria hill, at the top of which stands the Sanctuary of Bonaria, one of the iconic landmarks of Cagliari.
From this ancient, imposing church that overlooks the seafront you will depart for a fantastic journey at the discovery of the hidden treasures of the city. Your friendly tour guide will be at your disposal to explain you the origins and the secrets of all the magical places you’ll visit.
The first part of this walking tour will be the new Galleria del Sale (“Gallery of the salt”), the first contemporary open air art gallery in town: 15 striking wall graffiti painted by local street artists, to celebrate the relationship between man and nature. The walking guided tour continues by bus to reach the heart of the historic centre. We will go browsing for the best handicraft shops that sell high-quality hand-made clothes and products made by local artisans. But you will also visit elegant boutiques, jewelleries, workshops, and much more!
This unusual walking tour of Cagliari will also take you to visit the San Benedetto Market, which represents the historic food market and one of the biggest in Italy, with about 240 stalls where to buy local produce and all sorts of Sardinian goodies. The tour ends with a free sample of Sardinian sweets and a free coffee or cappuccino, to celebrate the tour together.
Meeting point information and local telephone numbers at your destination are included on your Confirmation Voucher.
This tour will be both on foot and by bus to reach the historic center. The price of the bus ticket for two hours is 2€ per person for two hours, and 3€ per person for the whole day.
We suggest wearing comfortable clothes and sunglasses. In the summer months, it is also recommended to bring some water.
On Sunday, the market of San Benedetto is closed and it will be replaced with the flea markets.
