There is nothing like playing golf in the ancient volcanic crater of the Castelgandolfo golf course, one of the most beautiful and technical in Italy. The golf course was designed by architect Robert Trent Jones, respecting the ancient volcanic crater and inserting the fairways in the lush vegetation, where Mediterranean olive trees and pines merge with vineyards, cypresses, mimosas, citrus trees and rose gardens. The Club House was the villa that Flavio Chigi, Cardinal in Sassia and nephiew of Pope Alessandro VII, built to welcome the famous beauty the "Peahen".
The name remains to indicate the villa and the town. During the centuries, this villa has seen various transfers of property. From the balcony of the villa, you can enjoy the whole panorama of the Rome golf course: the holes are embraced by just one glance and all becomes more "private" and striking. This is a very technical itinerary, formed by a total of 18 holes par 72, for an overall surface of 6.205 meters.
The Castelgandolfo Country Club also has a Pro Shop and a welcoming bar and restaurant. The Rome golf eXPerience includes green fee, tee time booking, golf bag and cart rental (manual or electric) for 18 holes golf. This is a standard package, but you can also add optional services, such as a 30-minute lesson with a PGAI teacher (from the Italian Professional Golf Association), participating to the day competition and the transfer service to and from the Club.
