On the morning of Day 2, you will go to Monreale to peruse the architecture of the town and purchase the almonds, olive oil, and citrus fruits that the town is known for. Back in Palermo, you will wander throughout the charming streets of Old Town while your guide tells you stories that are easily 3,000 years old. Discover the Cathedral, a jewel born of a synthesis of various artistic styles, sign of the passage of different dominations that continued through the centuries. Relax in the late afternoon through the streets of the city and then return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight.
After breakfast, departure for Erice, a wonderful city that hasn't changed in centuries and you will love your time exploring it. Then, you will reach Marsala, charming town located in the most westerly point of Sicily. Enjoy comfortable visit between the colors and the flavors of Marsala, and do not forget to take home a bottle of sweet wine from which the town takes its name. Before night time arrives, you will find yourself in Agrigento, seeing Greek monuments and the amazing ruins at the Valley of the Temples, UNESCO archaeological site. Check in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast and departure for Noto. Visit San Nicolò Cathedral, recently restored after the earthquake, and enjoy its wonderful streets. Continuing along the south coast, you will arrive in Siracusa, very famous for its Parco Archeologico della Neapolis in Siracusa, which collects a treasure of greek-Roman ruins of inestimable value, characterized by a thick vegetation and monuments of great historical importance: the greek theater, the Roman Amphitheater and the Ear of Dionisio, cave dug with a trend to "s" which makes it a place of acoustic amplification. After the visit, cross the bridge in the city for a visit to the island of Ortigia, the oldest part of Siracusa, home to historic churches and buildings adorned by magnificent baroque art. In the late afternoon arrival at the hotel in Taormina. Enjoy dinner and overnight.
After breakfast we depart towards Mount Etna, the most impressive active volcano in Europe. You will learn how volcanic activity, discovering the fertile territories lava and magma black rocks that surround the surrounding area. If time permits, you will have the opportunity to reach a part of the top to get to the highest point (1800m). Return to Taormina, romantic and special tourist destination that stands on Mount Tauro, a natural panoramic terrace! Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit Savoca and Forza d'Agrò, two hill towns immortalized in the Coppola film trilogy "The Godfather". A visit for lovers of cinema but not only, as you dive into the true nature of Sicilian welcoming places and its inhabitants, an authentic place far away from mass tourism. It must pause for the granita at Bar Vitelli, a famous family-run for some scenes filmed by Coppola in "The Godfather II". In the afternoon arrival in Catania, where you can visit the old town declared a World Heritage Site. Discover Piazza Dante and Piazza dell'Elefante, symbol of the city carved out of lava rock. Transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
