This day tour tour takes you to the heart of the countryside of Rome, the so called Castelli Romani, hill towns surronding the city of Rome. This day tour promises to be a rare experience combining culture, relax and food. The day trip begins from your hotel, where you will be picked up by a minivan. The ride will go along the Via Appia Antica giving you the opportunity to admire the breathtaking countryside and also explore different historical villages such as the Castel Gandolfo which houses the Pope's summer residence and it has been decalred part of the "most beautiful towns of Italy".
Next, you will have the opportunity to visit a local winery and have the privilege to taste at least 4 of the finest wines available in a village known to produce the best wine and local products to soothe your pallet. The tour continues to the shores of the volcanic lake Albano home to the famous Porchetta which you will be tasting and other well-made local delicacies. You will also have the opportunity to taste the local wine, Romanella.
The next and last stop of the tour will be the charming town of Nemi, overlooking the small and pretty Lake of Nemi. This is where the Roman Ships Museum is located. Nemi is alos famous for its strawberry production: yearly there is a big event in the town dedicate to the strawberries, which attract many visitors from Rome and the surronding area. After this visit, you will be returning to Rome by minivan and dropped off at your Hotel.
