Full day tour to Assisi and Orvieto with guide and private car

Starting from the meet-up point in Assisi, we shall walk through places like Roman Amphitheatre and the beautiful Minerva Temple, discovering the best-preserved old Roman Ruins in Italy. Experience the medieval hill town environment of Italy, in the local alleyway & the shops of pottery, carvings, and embroidery. After a visit to the main attraction, the Basilica of Saint Francis with its unimaginable frescoes by a famous painter of Italy in the 13th – 14th Century, the tour would move on to Orvieto best part of Orvieto is Duomo, an Orvieto Cathedral, known for its architecture & museums with artifacts of up to 2500 years old. You will meet your guide in Assisim, where you will spend the morning strolling round the main attractions of the town. Starting from the Basilica Papale-e-Sacro Convento di San Francesco d'Assisi that is the mother church of Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor Conventual of the town, where Saint Francis had been born and died. Next would be an ancient Roman building that houses, a church built in 1539, Santa Maria Sopra Minerva. It was later refurbished in Baroque style during the 17th century. Also known as the Temple of Minerva, it was originally constructed in the 1st century on Gnaeus Caesius and Titus Caesius Priscus’s orders. They were the quattuorviri of the city and financed the construction.

Now we would move to a church that had the remains of Saint Clare of Assisi, Basilica di Santa Chiara. Saint Clare is said to be the founder of the Order of Saint Clare, then known as the Order of Poor Ladies and a devotee of Saint Francis of Assisi. You will then have some free time for lunch at your leisure, before leaving for Orvieto. A private car with driver will be waiting for you to take you comfortably to this charming hilltop town in Umbria.

Orvieto offer plenty of attractions worth to visit that the guide will show you. First, we will pass by the Pozzo di San Patrizio that designed and engineered in the 1530s to provide water to the city in the times of war.Our stop in Orvieto, however, would be the Duomo di Orvieto. A magnificent Duomo (cathedral) that is considered a must-see in the churches of Italy. It has a gold-and-mosaic Gothic façade, Luca Signorelli’s gorgeous frescoes. Next, we would pass by the Torre Del Moro that gives a bird’s eye view of the Orvieto, sweeping the horizon, you can see the hamlets and castles that bore witness to the power that the medieval city held. At the end of the tour the driver wil take you back to Assisi.
