This Syracuse, Ortigia, and Noto excursion departing from Taormina (or Giardini di Naxos) for small groups will begin with a scenic tour aboard our minivan, during which you will take in the eastern coast of Sicily, passing picturesque villages and splendid sea views. Soon you will reach, along with the art and history expert guide who will accompany you throughout the tour, the enchanting Ortigia, connected to Syracuse by a short bridge, consisting of a small but beautiful island that is considered the historic center of Syracuse. The island is full of winding streets, historic buildings, and is home to some of Sicily's most fascinating architecture, including the famous Fountain of Arethusa and the Piazza del Duomo, home to the splendid cathedral, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. The Duomo features an imposing façade, intricate interior decorations and a beautiful bell tower, and is definitely one of the attractions to visit during your Sicilian stay (we will only do so externally).
Before continuing on to the next stop, you can savor authentic Sicilian flavors here in Ortigia with lunch included in the tour.
