The famous Chiaramonti Museum

The Chiaramonti Museum was founded at the beginning of XIX century and takes its name from the Pope Pio VII. It has been fully looked after and set up by the great sculptor Antonio Canova and includes the Chiaramonti Gallery, the Braccio Nuovo and the Lapidaria Gallery.

The wonderful Vatican Pinacoteca

The Vatican Pinacoteca, another important building within the Vatican Museum, was built by order of Pope Pio IX. It is composed of sixteen rooms that contain artworks starting from XII to XIX century, realized by world famous artists such as Giotto, Raffaello, Leonardo and Caravaggio.
