The Colosseum in Rome is the largest amphitheatre in the world. It is situated in the center of the city built completely using only concrete and sand, commissioned by Emperor Vespasian and completed under the rule of his son, Titus. Most know the Colosseum as the infamous gladiatorial and public spectacles in the early medieval era. Later, under the rule of Emperor Nero, the Colosseum was used to punish and martyr Christians. It remains to be an iconic symbol of the Imperial Rome.
On this Tour for kids and family, you will have the opportunity to admire the Roman Forum, located in between the Palatine Hill and the Capitoline Hill. It was the centre governmental place of ancient Rome. It was the public venue for public speeches, commercial center but also used for public criminal trials and gladiator matches. All the important shrines and temples can still be seen until today. With this small group tour, observe the majestic architectural design of the Temple of Saturn, Temple of Vespasian and Titus, The Arch of Septimius Severus, the Basilica Aemilia, the Temple of Caesar and the Temple of Vesta.
