With this memorable 12 day tour, you will get a chance to visit some of the most amazing travel destinations in Italy. The trip will take you to explore some wonderful places in Rome, Capri, and the Amalfi coast.
Independent arrival at the hotel in Catania (contact us for an optional private transfer from the airport). In the evening you will meet your tour leader and your travel companions. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
After breakfast, begin the day with a tour of Syracuse and its ancient Greek treasures. You will visit the ancient Greek city of Neapolis, today a vast and fascinating archaeological park. You will then visit the small historic centre of Syracuse, which is the small island of Ortigia, where you will have the chane to stroll around the elegant alleys. After free time for lunch (NOT included), your tour of Sicily will continue with a visit of Noto, famous for its amazing architecture, especially the Arab - Normann Cathedral, that can best be admired in the town center. Then you will visit Palazzo Nicolaci Villadorata, beautiful noble residence in Baroque style before heading to Ragusa for dinner and overnight.
The first part of the morning will be dedicated to teh visit or Ragusa Ibla and its wonderful baroque architecture. After strolling around the picturesque alleys of Ragusa, it will be time to move towards Modica, the Sicilian town of chocolate: here you will ahe the chance to visit one of the most famous chocolate factories and to have an unforgettable chocolate tasting. The tour of Modica will continue with the visit of Palazzo Castro Polara Grimaldi, a 17-th century building from where you will also enjoy a stunning panoramic view over the town. After that, relax with lunch in shadow of a special location: Orti San Giorgio. In the afternoon, head to Piazza Armerina to visit Villa Romana del Casale and its mosaics. Head to Agrigento for overnight and dinner.
The first visit of the day will of course be the famous Valley of the temples of Agrigento. Then, stop in Marsala for visiting the centre and for a guided tour of the Cantine Florio, where Marsala wine is produced. Light lunch with wine tasting here and then, drive along the Salt Road, before getting to Palermo for overnight and dinner.
After breakfast, you will move towards Monreale, to have a tour of its huge Arab-Norman Cathedral, famous all over the world and part of Unesco Heritage. Later on, return to Palermo to have a proper visit of this fantastic city. Walking around the city centre, you will feel the charme of the architecture that has been influenced by many cultures in the past: join the amazing Martorana Church to the Cappella Palatina. On the way, you will have a stop for a food surprise in a local bakery. After free time for lunch (NOT included), take the chance to keep exploring the city centre on your own, with the Teatro Massimo and the Fountain in Pretoria Square. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, according to the flight schedule, you will leave Palermo to reach Rome by plane. A private transfer service will be available to take you to the hotel in Rome. Free dinner (NOT included) and overnight.
After breakfast, you will reach Naples from Rome by high speed train. At the Station, the guide will wait fro you to take you to Pompeii for a special visit to the excavations which is one of UNESCO’s listed ruins. After Pompeii, you will proceed to Sorrento. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, visit the famous Island of Capri. You will travel on a ferry to the Marina Grande and also get a chance to have a boat tour around the isladn and to walk in the famous Piazzetta and in the Anacapri alleys. In the afternoon, go back to Marina Grande to board the ferry to Sorrento. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, move towards the splendid Amalfi coast. The first stop will be Positano, where you will have free time to explore the sights and the aura of the city or to have shopping (lunch NOT included). Then, reach Amalfi where you will check in at the hotel. Free dinner (NOT included) and overnight.
After breakfast, have a day at disposal for visiting Amalfi. You wil decide whether to visit the Dome, Ravello and its villas, or simply to relax on the beach (contact us for an optional and personalized tour)! Free dinner (NOT included) and overnight.
After breakfast, free morning and then transfer to Naples, where you will get onboard a high-speed train to Rome. Arrival in Rome, free dinner (NOT included) and overnight at the hotel.
