Multiday tour from Catania: Palermo, Taormina and more

Day 1: Catania

Arrive independently to the hotel in the charming city of Catania (contact us for an optional private transfer from the airport). In the evening you will meet your tour-leader and your travel companions. Dinner on your own and overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Syracuse - Noto - Ragusa

After breakfast at the hotel, the first stop will be Syracuse, discovering the ancient Greek roots of Sicily in the Archaeologic Park of Neapolis, with its Greek theatre and Roma Amphiteatre. You will continue visiting the small island of Ortigia, the historic centre of Syracuse, known for its elegence and the magnificent Cathedral.  After free time for lunch (NOT included), you will geat to Noto, a gem of Sicilian baroque art, full of elegant buldings and ornaments. Transfer to Ragusa for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Piazza Armerina - Ragusa Ibla - Agrigento

After breakfast, the day will begin with a visit of  will begin with a visit of Ragusa Ibla, one of the most beautiful baroque towns on the island and an UNESCO site, hosting more than 50 churches and a lot of baroque architecture. The next stop will be the enchanting city of Modica, UNESCO heritage site, where, after a stroll around the city centre you will first visit one of the most famous chocolate factory of the town and then the majestic Palazzo Castro Polara Grimaldi. After the visit, you will enjoy a tasting of locla products. A breathtaking panorama will be the perfect venue for your relaxing lunch. In the evening, you go towards Piazza Armerina, a nice charming village, where you will have a tour inside the Villa Romana del Casale, world famous for its impressive Roman mosaics. Transfer to Agrigento for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Agrigento - Marsala - Salt Road - Palermo

After breakfast, our eXPerience will continue with Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples area, the ruins of ancient Akragas. After that,  join a visit of Marsala where you will visit a famous wine cellar (wine tasting and lunch will be included) and then a trip along the Marsala Salt Road, admiring the salt mines and windmills, and the Stagnone Island. Transfer to Palermo and overnight in hotel, dinner on your own.

Day 5: Monreale - Palermo

After breakfast, you will head to Monreale, to visit the immense Arab - Norman Cathedral, with its stunning cloister. The next stop will be  visit of the centre of Palermo, famous for attractions like the Arab-Norman Cathedral, Martorana Church, Pretoria Square and many others. A few of the treasures include preserved monuments, the Palatine Chapel, and the Fountain Square Pretoria. You will also have a stop for a food surprise in a local bakery. During the day, you will have a stop to enjoy a typical lunch with local food. Overnight in hotel, dinner on your own.

Day 6: Cefalù - Catania

After breakfast, The next stop will be Cefalù, a picturesque sea village, also known for its splendid Norman Dome. You will have free time to visit the city, before leaving for Catania, included in the UNESCO World Heritage. The tour will include the most interesting attractions, like the Cathedral, the Liotru Statue, University Square, Via dei Crociferi, Saint Benedict Monastery. You will have a stop to have lunch in a famous restaurant. Overnight in hotel in Catania.

Day 7: Etna-Taormina

After breakfast, there will be a quick visit to the traditional fish market of Catania and then you will depart to discover the Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe and a UNESCO wonder, walking along the inactive volcanic cones. Then you will visit a beekeeping farm, and taste delicious local products. Then you will have lunch in a lovely restaurant. The day continues with a tour of the charming Taormina: it will start with the visit of the Greek theatre where you will admire the awesome panorama on the Naxos Gulf. Before leaving you will have some free time for shopping in the city centre. Driving along the beautiful Riviera dei Ciclopi, we finally make our way to Catania. Dinner on your own and overnight in hotel.

Day 8: Catania

After breakfast, end of the tour (contact us for an optional private transfer to the airport).
