This is one of the most enticing things to do from Florence, a trip in Tuscany countryside that is both energetic and filled with cultural and gourmet discoveries.
This bike tour of Tuscany and its wines starts with a short shuttle transfer out from central Florence where the small group will pick up the bikes and start the trip. Ride your bike through the rolling hills of Tuscany, past charming vineyards and olive groves, stopping from time to time to take photos or admire the scenery.
The route will follow less crowded country roads in Chianti wine region, with mostly flat portions, but also several uphill and downhill sections, although moderately difficult. The small group wine tour of Tuscany by bike will have the option to cycle the whole route which is about 15 km, or just the flat and downhill parts, relying on the accompanying van. At half way, there will be time for a pic-nic break with a typical Tuscan snack: bread with salt and fresh olive oil!
You will then visit two wineries, completely different in their settings and approach: a famous winery with its spectacular cellar, producing some of the most renowned Chianti wines, and a small fascinating boutique winery.You will have the chance to learn the techniques of production, aging, storing and bottling wine and olive oil during guided visit of the wine cellars.
