The first stop of the day will be a visit to a Parmigiano Reggiano factory. Made exclusively in this region, Parmigiano Reggiano is produced in dairies which comply with extremely strict regulations in order to protect the welfare of the animals. You will see the entire operation, from milking to the final processing of the cheese and the local farmer will explain you all the secrets of the production. The second stop will be a visit to a Parma Ham PDO production factory. You will discover the secrets of the processing and seasoning of this world famous Parma ham, a very interesting process which passes through several phases before the all important 12-month resting period. The ham legally recognised as Proscuitto di Parma only after that time range. After the guided visit and the explanations, it will be time to endulge your taste buds with the wonderful flavors of this ham, which is very sweet, if compared to other kinds of ham.
Return to the centre of Parma by shuttle.
