The Lake Maggiore (also known as Verbano Lake) originates from a melted glacierand is the second largest lake in Italy, after Lake Garda and the second deepest, after Lake Como.
Its shores spread between Switzerland and Italy. The major tributaries are the Ticino River, the Maggia River, the Toce River and Tresa River.
