Villa Borghese, one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the centre of Rome: originally, it was the ancient private residence of the Borghese family, but at the beginning of the 20th century the whole area was sold to the City of Rome, which has converted into a public park.
 
The Villa Borghese holds in its 226 acres of garden several statues, fountains, artificial lakes and theaters (including a replica of Shakepseare's Globe).
